Fans at Tuesday's league contest between the Middletown Islanders (Middletown, RI) and the visiting East Greenwich Avengers (East Greenwich, RI), witnessed Middletown's lacrosse squad hold off East Greenwich by a count of 12-11.

The Islanders (11-2) will now prepare for their contest against Westerly (Westerly, RI). The Bulldogs enter the Division 2 contest with a 8-6 record. In their last contest, Westerly nipped Smithfield (Esmond, RI), 14-3, in a league contest.

Next, the Avengers meet the Portsmouth Patriots (Portsmouth, RI) in a Division 2 contest, on Thursday, May 15. East Greenwich will attempt to move on its 9-2 season record. The Patriots enter the contest with a 10-2 record after their 8-5 league win over Cranston West (Cranston, RI).
