In Tuesday's league match, the visiting Phoenix Firebirds softball team scored a nice 23-4 win over the Cortland Purple Tigers.

The Firebirds (3-2) will now prepare for their match against Homer (Homer, NY). The Trojans come into the Section 3 Liberty 1 match with a 4-7 record. In their last match, Homer was routed by Marcellus (Marcellus, NY), 7-1, in a league match.

In their next game, the Purple Tigers clash with the Skaneateles Lakers (Skaneateles, NY) in a bout, on Wednesday, May 14. Cortland will attempt to advance on its 1-10 season record. The Lakers go into the bout with a 6-5 record after their 10-2 non-league loss to Christian Brothers Academy (Syracuse, NY).
