The Newark Reds overwhelmed the host Penn Yan Academy Mustangs softball squad by a count of 24-11 in Tuesday's league challenge.

Next, the Reds meet the Wayne Eagles (Ontario Center, NY) in a Class A challenge, on Friday, May 16. Newark will attempt to upgrade on its 6-12 season record. The Eagles go into the challenge with a 8-10 record after their 5-2 league loss to Mynderse Academy (Seneca Falls, NY).

The Mustangs (0-14) will now prepare for their challenge against Midlakes (Clifton Springs, NY). The Screaming Eagles go into the Finger Lakes East challenge with a 4-15 record. In their last challenge, Midlakes was routed by Bloomfield (Bloomfield, NY), 12-0, in a non-league challenge.
