Freeburg Midgets (Freeburg, IL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the visiting Centralia Orphans (Centralia, IL), 4-3 in a non-league test.
With the win, Freeburg upgrades its record to 19-12 on the season.
With the defeat, Centralia falls to 11-14 on the season. The Orphans host Collinsville (Collinsville, IL) to battle the Kahoks in a non-league test on Monday, May 16. The Kahoks come into the test with a record of 9-18. Collinsville won 4-3 in their recent league test against Belleville East (Belleville, IL)
