South Vermillion Wildcats (Clinton, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Covington Trojans (Covington, IN), 4-1 in a league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 19-1 record. They take the field next when they host Parke Heritage for a Wabash River challenge on Monday, May 16. South Vermillion will face a Wolves squad coming off a 7-0 league win over Fountain Central (Veedersburg, IN). The Wolves record now stands at 9-11.

With the loss, Covington falls to 7-12 on the campaign. The Trojans host North Vermillion (Cayuga, IN) to face the Falcons in a Wabash River challenge on Monday, May 16. The Falcons enter the challenge with a record of 9-9. North Vermillion won 13-5 in their recent non-league challenge against Hoopeston (Hoopeston, IL)
