The Newton South Lions softball team scored 20 runs and limited the visiting East Boston Jets to 1 in the Lions non-league triumph on Tuesday.

With the triumph, Newton South moves its record to 7-7 on the year. The Lions host Wayland (Wayland, MA) to clash with the Warriors in a non-league game on Wednesday, May 15. The Warriors come into the game with a record of 5-2.

In their next game, the Jets clash with the Fontbonne Academy Ducks (Milton, MA) in a non-league game, on Monday, May 20. East Boston will attempt to move on its 4-10 season record. The Ducks come into the game with a 4-3 record after their 12-4 non-league win over O'Bryant (Roxbury, MA).
