The Berlin Mountaineers softball team scored 16 runs and held the visiting Hillsboro-Deering Hillcats to 12 in the Mountaineers non-league win on Wednesday.

The Mountaineers now possess a 3-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to White Mountains for a Division III battle on Friday, May 16. Berlin will confront a Spartans team coming off a 7-1 non-league loss to Woodsville (Woodsville, NH). The Spartans record now stands at 3-6.

With the loss, Hillsboro-Deering moves to 2-6 on the season. The Hillcats host St. Thomas Aquinas (Dover, NH) to confront the Saints in a non-league battle on Thursday, May 15. The Saints come into the battle with a record of 13-0. St. Thomas Aquinas won 3-2 in their recent league battle against Newport (Newport, NH)
