The Cascade Cougars got by the visiting Stayton Eagles softball squad by a count of 1-0 in Wednesday's league challenge.
Next, the Cougars meet the Newport Cubs (Newport, OR) in a 4A Oregon West challenge, on Thursday, May 15. Cascade will attempt to upgrade on its 23-1 season record. The Cubs go into the challenge with a 4-18 record after their 16-1 non-league loss to Philomath (Philomath, OR).
The Eagles (14-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Sweet Home (Sweet Home, OR). The Huskies go into the 4A Oregon West challenge with a 14-8 record. In their last challenge, Sweet Home held off Newport (Newport, OR), 13-1, in a league challenge.
