In Wednesday's league match, the visiting Gloucester Fishermen softball team scored a tight 11-5 win over the Swampscott Big Blue.

The Fishermen (11-0) will now prepare for their match against Winthrop (Winthrop, MA). The Vikings come into the Northeast- Lynch match with a 4-12 record. In their last match, Winthrop was routed by Salem (Salem, MA), 7-2, in a league match.

In their next game, the Big Blue battle the Masconomet Regional Chieftains (Boxford, MA) in a non-league match, on Monday, May 19. Swampscott will attempt to better on its 8-6 season record. The Chieftains come into the match with a 7-8 record after their 6-2 league loss to Danvers (Danvers, MA).
