In Wednesday's non-league match, the host Martin County Cardinals softball team scored a tight 12-9 victory over the Prestonsburg Blackcats.

The Cardinals (10-12) will now prepare for their match against East Ridge (Lick Creek, KY). The Warriors go into the non-league match with a 8-13 record.

Coming up next, the Blackcats encounter the Floyd Central Jaguars (Eastern, KY) in a District 58 outing, on Monday, May 19. Prestonsburg will attempt to move on its 7-14 season record.
