The Stearns Minutemen overwhelmed the host Piscataquis Pirates softball squad by a count of 14-1 in Wednesday's league challenge.

Next, the Minutemen meet the Mattanawcook Lynx (Lincoln, ME) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, May 16. Stearns will attempt to upgrade on its 8-1 season record. The Lynx go into the challenge with a 4-3 record after their 4-0 league loss to Bucksport (Bucksport, ME).

The Pirates (1-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Dexter (Dexter, ME). The Tigers go into the non-league challenge with a 5-3 record. In their last challenge, Dexter toppled Foxcroft Academy (Dover-Foxcroft, ME), 4-3, in a league challenge.
