Virginia High School Softball - Rockbridge County edges Riverheads

The Rockbridge County Wildcats softball team scored 4 runs and held the host Riverheads Gladiators to 2 in the Wildcats non-league win on Thursday.

The Wildcats now possess a 9-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Fort Defiance for a non-league battle on Tuesday, May 19. Rockbridge County will confront a Indians team coming off a 17-0 league win over Staunton (Staunton, VA). The Indians record now stands at 10-8.

With the loss, Riverheads moves to 7-10 on the season. The Gladiators travel to Alleghany (Covington, VA) to confront the Mountaineers in a Shenandoah battle on Tuesday, May 19. The Mountaineers come into the battle with a record of 13-4. Alleghany won 1-0 in their recent league battle against Wilson Memorial (Fishersville, VA)
