In Sunday's non-league contest, the Saugus Sachems (Saugus, MA) softball team overwhelmed the host Melrose Red Raiders (Melrose, MA), by a margin of 14-8.

With the triumph, Saugus moves its record to 8-6 on the year. The Sachems travel to Salem (Salem, MA) to play the Witches in a Northeast contest on Monday, May 16. The Witches come into the contest with a record of 3-6. Salem won 12-2 in their recent non-league contest against Lynn English (Lynn, MA)

In their next game, the Red Raiders play the Wilmington Wildcats (Wilmington, MA) in a Middlesex contest, on Tuesday, May 17. Melrose will attempt to move on its 4-9 season record.
