Herkimer Magicians (Herkimer, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Adirondack Wildcats (Boonville, NY), 7-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Magicians now own a 9-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Canajoharie for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, May 16. Herkimer will battle a Cougars squad coming off a 23-0 non-league loss to West Canada Valley (Newport, NY). The Cougars record now stands at 3-9.

With the loss, Adirondack falls to 11-3 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Oriskany (Oriskany, NY) to battle the Redskins in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 17. The Redskins enter the challenge with a record of 13-4. Oriskany won 15-3 in their recent league challenge against Hamilton (Hamilton, NY)
