The Andrean Fighting 59ers softball team scored 18 runs and limited the visiting Merrillville Pirates to 0 in the Fighting 59ers non-league triumph on Monday.

With the triumph, Andrean moves its record to 23-7 on the year. The Fighting 59ers travel to South Central (Union Mills, IN) to clash with the Satellites in a non-league game on Friday, May 19. The Satellites come into the game with a record of 14-6.

In their next game, the Pirates clash with the Portage Indians (Portage, IN) in a Duneland game, on Tuesday, May 16. Merrillville will attempt to move on its 1-20 season record. The Indians come into the game with a 11-13 record after their 9-3 non-league win over South Central (Union Mills, IN).
