The crowd at Monday's league match between the Shepard Astros (Palos Heights, IL) and the visiting Evergreen Park Mustangs (Evergreen Park, IL), saw Shepard's softball squad nip Evergreen Park by a count of 7-6.

The Astros now sport a 18-7 record. They take the field next when they host Hillcrest for a South Suburban - Blue match on Tuesday, May 16. Shepard will face a Hawks squad coming off a 2-0 league loss to Thornton Fractional North (Calumet City, IL). The Hawks record now stands at 0-16.

With the loss, Evergreen Park falls to 19-8 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Argo (Summit, IL) to face the Argonauts in a South Suburban match on Tuesday, May 16. The Argonauts enter the match with a record of 14-9. Argo won 11-0 in their recent league match against Thornton Fractional South (Lansing, IL)
