Virginia High School Softball - Mechanicsville holds off Varina

May 15, 2023: Richmond, VA 23231

Spectators at Monday's league match between the Mechanicsville Mustangs (Mechanicsville, VA) and the host Varina Blue Devils (Richmond, VA), witnessed Mechanicsville's softball squad tip Varina by a count of 15-13.

The Mustangs now sport a 8-12 record. They play next when they travel to Atlee for a Capital match on Friday, May 19. Mechanicsville will meet a Raiders squad coming off a 15-1 league win over Henrico (Richmond, VA). The Raiders record now stands at 13-6.

With the loss, Varina moves to 5-12 on the season. The Blue devils host Armstrong (Richmond, VA) to meet the Wildcats in a Capital match on Friday, May 19. The Wildcats go into the match with a record of 2-8.
