Medomak Valley Panthers (Waldoboro, ME) fans exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Oceanside Mariners (Rockland, ME), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Panthers now sport a 5-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Erskine Academy for a Class B South challenge on Wednesday, May 17. Medomak Valley will face a Eagles squad coming off a 14-2 non-league loss to Maine Central Institute (Pittsfield, ME). The Eagles record now stands at 1-10.

With the loss, Oceanside falls to 5-5 on the campaign. The Mariners travel to Waterville (Waterville, ME) to face the Panthers in a Class B North challenge on Wednesday, May 17. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 0-11. Waterville lost 12-5 in their recent league challenge against Cony (Augusta, ME)
