Riverside Vikings (Taylor, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Mid Valley Spartans (Throop, PA), 5-4 in a league challenge.

The Vikings now own a 7-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Honesdale for a Lackawanna 3 challenge on Tuesday, May 16. Riverside will face a Hornets squad coming off a 4-0 league loss to Holy Cross (Dunmore, PA). The Hornets record now stands at 2-9.

With the loss, Mid Valley falls to 16-2 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Honesdale (Honesdale, PA) to face the Hornets in a Lackawanna 3 challenge on Wednesday, May 17. The Hornets enter the challenge with a record of 2-9.
