In Wednesday's non-league contest, the Betsy Layne Bobcats (Betsy Layne, KY) softball team overwhelmed the host Morgan County Cougars (West Liberty, KY), by a margin of 13-7.

With the triumph, Betsy Layne moves its record to 7-11 on the year. The Bobcats host Lawrence County (Louisa, KY) to play the Bulldogs in a District 58 contest on Thursday, May 16. The Bulldogs come into the contest with a record of 24-4. Lawrence County lost 10-5 in their recent non-league contest against Boyd County (Ashland, KY)

In their next game, the Cougars play the Magoffin County Hornets (Salyersville, KY) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, May 16. Morgan County will attempt to move on its 3-18 season record.
