Hammond Central Red Devils (Hammond, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Edwards-Knox Cougars (Russell, NY), 16-6 in a league challenge.

The Red Devils now own a 10-6 record. They take the field next when they host Morristown Central for a non-league challenge on Monday, May 20. Hammond Central will battle a Rockets squad coming off a 24-8 non-league win over Potsdam (Potsdam, NY). The Rockets record now stands at 9-6.

With the loss, Edwards-Knox falls to 2-11 on the campaign. The Cougars host Hermon-DeKalb Central (DeKalb Junction, NY) to battle the Demons in a Section 10 West challenge on Thursday, May 16. The Demons enter the challenge with a record of 5-9. Hermon-DeKalb Central won 34-0 in their recent league challenge against Clifton-Fine (Star Lake, NY)
