Maumee Panthers (Maumee, OH) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Lake Flyers (Millbury, OH), 15-8 in a non-league challenge.

The Panthers now sport a 19-7 record. They take the field next when they host Genoa Area for a Northern Buckeye challenge on Thursday, May 16. Maumee will face a Comets squad coming off a 13-1 league win over Fostoria (Fostoria, OH). The Comets record now stands at 13-11.

With the loss, Lake falls to 9-13 on the campaign. The Flyers host Eastwood (Pemberville, OH) to face the Eagles in a Northern Buckeye challenge on Thursday, May 16. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 17-9. Eastwood lost 3-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Otsego (Tontogany, OH)
