Western Branch Bruins (Chesapeake, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Lakeland Cavaliers (Suffolk, VA), 13-0 in a league challenge.

The Bruins now own a 14-5 record. They take the field next when they host Deep Creek for a Southeastern challenge on Friday, May 17. Western Branch will battle a Hornets squad coming off a 10-0 non-league win over Maury (Norfolk, VA). The Hornets record now stands at 14-4.

With the loss, Lakeland falls to 2-10 on the campaign. The Cavaliers host Oscar Smith (Chesapeake, VA) to battle the Tigers in a Southeastern challenge on Friday, May 17. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 2-14. Oscar Smith lost 20-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Bayside (Virginia Beach, VA)
