The Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Red Devils softball team scored 5 runs and held the visiting Canastota Red Raiders to 4 in the Red Devils non-league win on Thursday.

The Red Devils (2-6) will now prepare for their match against New Hartford (New Hartford, NY). The Spartans come into the Section 3 Tri-Valley match with a 5-6 record. In their last match, New Hartford nipped Proctor (Utica, NY), 19-0, in a league match.

In their next game, the Red Raiders battle the Phoenix Firebirds (Phoenix, NY) in a non-league match, on Friday, May 16. Canastota will attempt to better on its 8-7 season record. The Firebirds come into the match with a 3-2 record after their 15-2 league win over Homer (Homer, NY).
