In Thursday's non-league test, the Hopewell-Loudon Chieftains (Bascom, OH) softball squad overwhelmed the visiting St. Mary Central Catholic Panthers (Sandusky, OH), by a count of 11-2.

Next, the Chieftains meet the New Riegel Blue Jackets (New Riegel, OH) in a Sandusky Bay - River test, on Tuesday, May 20. Hopewell-Loudon will attempt to upgrade on its 16-8 season record. The Blue Jackets go into the test with a 14-3 record after their 4-2 league win over Gibsonburg (Gibsonburg, OH).
