The crowd at Thursday's league bout between the Kalamazoo Central Maroon Giants (Kalamazoo, MI) and the host Lakeview Spartans (Battle Creek, MI), observed Kalamazoo Central's softball team get by Lakeview by a tally of 8-2.

The Maroon Giants (13-5) will now prepare for their bout against Parchment (Parchment, MI). The Panthers go into the non-league bout with a 10-9 record. In their last bout, Parchment tipped Martin (Martin, MI), 14-10, in a non-league bout.

In their next game, the Spartans clash with the Walled Lake Northern Knights (Commerce, MI) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, May 17. Lakeview will attempt to advance on its 10-7 season record. The Knights go into the bout with a 21-4 record after their 17-2 league win over Walled Lake Central (Walled Lake, MI).
