Illinois High School Softball - Somonauk succumbs to Newark

May 15, 2025: Newark, IL 60541

In Thursday's league test, the Newark Norsemen (Newark, IL) softball squad overwhelmed the visiting Somonauk Bobcats (Somonauk, IL), by a tally of 16-1.

Next, the Norsemen clash with the Ashton-Franklin Center Raiders (Ashton, IL) in a non-league test, on Friday, May 16. Newark will attempt to advance on its 15-14 season record. The Raiders go into the test with a 3-27 record after their 14-4 non-league win over Alden-Hebron (Hebron, IL).

The Bobcats (7-13) will now prepare for their test against Amboy (Amboy, IL). The Clippers go into the non-league test with a 4-17 record. In their last test, Amboy was routed by Morrison (Morrison, IL), 12-2, in a league test.
