Gwynedd Mercy Academy Monarchs (Gwynedd Valley, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Nazareth Academy (Philadelphia, PA), 4-1 in a league challenge.

The Monarchs now own a 10-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Central Bucks South for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 18. Gwynedd Mercy Academy will battle a Titans squad coming off a 7-3 league loss to Pennridge (Perkasie, PA). The Titans record now stands at 7-11.

With the loss, Nazareth Academy falls to 5-6 on the campaign. The travel to Villa Maria Academy (Malvern, PA) to battle the Hurricanes in a Catholic Academies challenge on Wednesday, May 18. The Hurricanes enter the challenge with a record of 5-6. Villa Maria Academy lost 16-12 in their recent non-league challenge against Bayard Rustin (West Chester, PA)
