The Wheeler Lions (North Stonington, CT) softball routed the host Plainfield Panthers (Central Village, CT), 13-8 in Monday's league bout.

The Lions (9-4) will now prepare for their bout against Parish Hill (Chaplin, CT). The Pirates go into the non-league bout with a 5-3 record. In their last bout, Parish Hill held off Weaver (Hartford, CT), 19-5, in a non-league bout.

The Panthers now possess a 6-10 record. They play next when they host Montville for a non-league bout on Tuesday, May 17. Plainfield will confront a Indians squad coming off a 13-1 non-league loss to Old Lyme (Old Lyme, CT). The Indians record now stands at 5-10.
