Wayland Warriors (Wayland, MA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Waltham Hawks (Waltham, MA), 7-5 in a league challenge.

The Warriors now own a 6-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Ashland for a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 19. Wayland will face a Clockers squad coming off a 12-2 league loss to Holliston (Holliston, MA). The Clockers record now stands at 1-12.

With the loss, Waltham falls to 1-8 on the campaign. The Hawks host Westford Academy (Westford, MA) to face the Grey Ghosts in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 18. The Grey Ghosts enter the challenge with a record of 11-2.
