Auburn Maroons (Auburn, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host West Genesee Wildcats (Camillus, NY), 9-2 in a league challenge.

The Maroons now own a 8-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Fayetteville-Manlius for a Section 3 Central Counties - National challenge on Thursday, May 18. Auburn will battle a Hornets squad coming off a 11-7 league loss to Cicero-North Syracuse (Cicero, NY). The Hornets record now stands at 5-10.

With the loss, West Genesee falls to 10-8 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Baldwinsville (Baldwinsville, NY) to battle the Bees in a Section 3 Central Counties - National challenge on Thursday, May 18. The Bees enter the challenge with a record of 9-9. Baldwinsville lost 2-1 in their recent league challenge against Liverpool (Liverpool, NY)
