Metamora Redbirds (Metamora, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host East Peoria Raiders (East Peoria, IL), 10-7 in a league challenge.

The Redbirds now own a 24-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Rock Island for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, May 17.

With the loss, East Peoria falls to 19-8 on the campaign. The Raiders travel to Pekin (Pekin, IL) to battle the Dragons in a Mid-Illini challenge on Thursday, May 18. The Dragons enter the challenge with a record of 16-5. Pekin won 4-2 in their recent league challenge against Limestone (Bartonville, IL)
