In Thursday's non-league contest, the Alton Redbirds (Alton, IL) volleyball squad nudged the host Granite City Warriors (Granite City, IL), by a margin of 2-1.

With the loss, Granite City moves to 8-13 on the year. The Warriors host Marquette Catholic (Alton, IL) to face the Explorers in a non-league contest on Monday, May 20. The Explorers go into the contest with a record of 8-16. Marquette Catholic won 2-0 in their recent non-league contest against Bunker Hill (Bunker Hill, IL)
