Spectators at Thursday's league match between the Lakes Eagles (Lake Villa, IL) and the host Grant Community Bulldogs (Fox Lake, IL), witnessed Lakes's softball squad tip Grant Community by a count of 9-4.

The Eagles now sport a 15-13 record. They play next when they travel to Grayslake North for a Northern Lake County match on Friday, May 17. Lakes will face a Knights squad coming off a 10-5 non-league loss to Warren Township (Gurnee, IL). The Knights record now stands at 5-19.

With the loss, Grant Community moves to 11-17 on the season. The Bulldogs travel to Mundelein (Mundelein, IL) to face the Mustangs in a non-league match on Friday, May 17. The Mustangs go into the match with a record of 29-1. Mundelein lost 7-6 in their recent non-league match against Antioch (Antioch, IL)
