Lakeshore Lancers (Stevensville, MI) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host New Prairie Cougars (New Carlisle, IN), 9-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Lancers now own a 5-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Penn for a non-league challenge on Friday, May 17. Lakeshore will face a Kingsmen squad coming off a 16-4 league win over South Bend Riley (South Bend, IN). The Kingsmen record now stands at 20-6.

With the loss, New Prairie falls to 17-6 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to South Bend Riley (South Bend, IN) to face the Wildcats in a non-league challenge on Monday, May 20. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 13-12. South Bend Riley won 5-4 in their recent league challenge against South Bend Clay (South Bend, IN)
