The Magoffin County Hornets softball team scored 17 runs and limited the visiting Morgan County Cougars to 2 in the Hornets non-league triumph on Thursday.

With the triumph, Magoffin County improves its record to 9-9 on the campaign. The Hornets host Paintsville (Paintsville, KY) to encounter the Tigers in a District 57 outing on Monday, May 20. The Tigers enter the outing with a record of 8-16.

The Cougars (3-19) will now prepare for their outing against East Carter (Grayson, KY). The Raiders enter the District 62 outing with a 24-6 record. In their last outing, East Carter prevailed over Raceland (Raceland, KY), 5-3, in a non-league outing.
