New Hartford Spartans (New Hartford, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Rome Free Academy Black Knights (Rome, NY), 13-3 in a league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 12-5 record.

With the loss, Rome Free Academy falls to 10-8 on the campaign. The Black knights host Baldwinsville (Baldwinsville, NY) to battle the Bees in a non-league challenge on Friday, May 17. The Bees enter the challenge with a record of 11-4. Baldwinsville won 11-1 in their recent league challenge against West Genesee (Camillus, NY)
