Stearns Minutemen (Millinocket, ME) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Searsport Vikings (Searsport, ME), 12-11 in a non-league challenge.

The Minutemen now sport a 4-5 record. They take the field next when they host Greenville for a non-league challenge on Monday, May 20. Stearns will face a Lakers squad coming off a 14-6 non-league loss to Schenck (East Millinocket, ME). The Lakers record now stands at 3-4.

With the loss, Searsport falls to 2-9 on the campaign. The Vikings host Jonesport-Beals (Jonesport, ME) to face the Royals in a non-league challenge on Monday, May 20. The Royals enter the challenge with a record of 3-6. Jonesport-Beals won 14-2 in their recent league challenge against Shead (Eastport, ME)
