George Wythe Maroons (Wytheville, VA) backers exited the stadium pleased Friday as they witnessed their soccer team triumph over the visiting Galax Maroon Tide (Galax, VA), 7-1 in a league test.

With the triumph, George Wythe advances its record to 9-4 on the campaign. The Maroons host Giles (Pearisburg, VA) to clash with the Spartans in a Mountain Empire test on Tuesday, May 20. The Spartans come into the test with a record of 9-5. Giles won 4-0 in their recent league test against Fort Chiswell (Max Meadows, VA)

The Maroon Tide now have a 0-13 record.
