In Friday's non-league test, the Ashland Hornets (Ashland, ME) softball squad overwhelmed the host Washburn Beavers (Washburn, ME), by a tally of 20-9.

Next, the Hornets clash with the Southern Aroostook Warriors (Dyer Brook, ME) in a Class D North test, on Monday, May 19. Ashland will attempt to advance on its 3-2 season record. The Warriors go into the test with a 5-2 record after their 13-2 league win over Fort Fairfield (Fort Fairfield, ME).

The Beavers (1-7) will now prepare for their test against Wisdom (St. Agatha, ME). The Pioneers go into the non-league test with a 4-2 record. In their last test, Wisdom was routed by Hodgdon (Hodgdon, ME), 10-8, in a league test.
