In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Cardinal Spellman Cardinals softball team scored a tight 2-0 win over the Fontbonne Academy Ducks.

The Cardinals (10-2) will now prepare for their match against St. Mary's (Lynn, MA). The Spartans come into the Catholic Central - Large match with a 4-1 record.

In their next game, the Ducks confront the Notre Dame Academy Rebels (Worcester, MA) in a non-league match, on Monday, May 19. Fontbonne Academy will attempt to better on its 7-5 season record. The Rebels come into the match with a 11-6 record after their 5-4 non-league loss to Tantasqua Regional (Fiskdale, MA).
