The Ponaganset Chieftains softball squad (North Scituate, RI), was routed 11-1 in Friday's league contest with the visiting Chariho Chargers (Wood River Junction, RI)

With the triumph, Chariho improves its record to 12-5 on the year. The Chargers host Westerly (Westerly, RI) to face the Bulldogs in a Division 1 contest on Sunday, May 18. The Bulldogs enter the contest with a record of 10-9. Westerly lost 6-5 in their recent league contest against Prout (Wakefield, RI)

The Chieftains now hold a 5-11 record. They play next when they host Prout for a Division 1 contest on Sunday, May 18. Ponaganset will face a Crusaders squad coming off a 5-1 league loss to Pilgrim (Warwick, RI). The Crusaders record now stands at 8-6.
