In Saturday's league bout, the Sheldon Irish (Eugene, OR) baseball squad overwhelmed the host South Eugene Axe (Eugene, OR), by a tally of 12-2.
Next up, the Irish encounter the Roseburg Indians (Roseburg, OR) in a 6A Southwest bout, on Tuesday, May 19. Sheldon will attempt to upgrade on its 12-5 season record. The Indians enter the bout with a 12-9 record after their 6-3 league win over North Medford (Medford, OR).
The Axe (1-19) will now prepare for their bout against Mountainside (Beaverton, OR). The Mavericks enter the non-league bout with a 15-10 record. In their last bout, Mountainside was overwhelmed by South Salem (Salem, OR), 16-5, in a non-league bout.
