Hermantown Hawks (Hermantown, MN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Hibbing Bluejackets (Hibbing, MN), 5-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Hawks now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Chisago Lakes Area for a non-league challenge on Friday, May 20.

With the loss, Hibbing falls to 2-1 on the campaign. The Bluejackets host Esko (Esko, MN) to battle the Eskomos in a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 19. The Eskomos enter the challenge with a record of 2-2.
