Spectators at Wednesday's non-league match between the Brewer Witches (Brewer, ME) and the visiting Mount Desert Island Trojans (Mount Desert, ME), witnessed Brewer's softball squad tip Mount Desert Island by a count of 5-3.

The Witches now sport a 8-3 record. They play next when they travel to Brunswick for a Class A North match on Friday, May 19. Brewer will face a Dragons squad coming off a 17-6 non-league win over Cape Elizabeth (Cape Elizabeth, ME). The Dragons record now stands at 7-3.

With the loss, Mount Desert Island moves to 4-8 on the season. The Trojans travel to Caribou (Caribou, ME) to confront the Vikings in a Class B North battle on Saturday, May 20. The Vikings go into the battle with a record of 1-8. Caribou lost 15-7 in their recent non-league battle against Fort Kent (Fort Kent, ME)
