Pittston Patriots (Pittston, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Dallas Mountaineers (Dallas, PA), 5-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Patriots now own a 14-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Scranton Prep for a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 18. Pittston will face a Cavaliers squad coming off a 5-1 league win over Wallenpaupack Area (Hawley, PA). The Cavaliers record now stands at 3-11.

With the loss, Dallas falls to 8-11 on the campaign. The Mountaineers host Berwick (Berwick, PA) to face the Bulldogs in a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 18. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 14-6. Berwick won 8-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Wyoming Valley West (Plymouth, PA)
