Maynard Tigers (Maynard, MA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Gardner Wildcats (Gardner, MA), 5-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Tigers now own a 12-5 record. They take the field next when they host Assabet Valley RVT for a non-league challenge on Friday, May 19.

With the loss, Gardner falls to 1-10 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Quabbin Regional (Barre, MA) to battle the Panthers in a Midland-Wachusett C challenge on Thursday, May 18. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 1-12. Quabbin Regional lost 10-9 in their recent league challenge against Lunenburg (Lunenburg, MA)
