Spectators at Friday's league match between the Vermillion Tanagers (Vermillion, SD) and the visiting Dakota Valley Panthers (North Sioux City, SD), witnessed Vermillion's softball squad tip Dakota Valley by a count of 15-9.

The Tanagers now sport a 10-9 record. They play next when they travel to Dakota Valley for a Class A match on Tuesday, May 21. Vermillion will meet a Panthers squad coming off a 11-3 non-league win over Castlewood (Castlewood, SD). The Panthers record now stands at 10-12.

With the loss, Dakota Valley moves to 9-11 on the season. The Panthers host Bon Homme (Tyndall, SD) to meet the Cavaliers in a non-league match on Saturday, May 18. The Cavaliers go into the match with a record of 18-3. Bon Homme won 13-11 in their recent non-league match against Beresford (Beresford, SD)
