The Nonnewaug Chiefs softball team scored 16 runs and limited the visiting Gilbert Yellowjackets to 1 in the Chiefs league triumph on Friday.
With the triumph, Nonnewaug moves its record to 12-5 on the year. The Chiefs travel to Terryville (Terryville, CT) to clash with the Kangaroos in a Berkshire game on Monday, May 20. The Kangaroos come into the game with a record of 0-8.
In their next game, the Yellowjackets clash with the Harding Presidents (Bridgeport, CT) in a non-league game, on Saturday, May 18. Gilbert will attempt to move on its 1-11 season record.
