The Hopkinton Hawks (Contoocook, NH) softball routed the host Hillsboro-Deering Hillcats (Hillsboro, NH), 18-2 in Friday's non-league bout.
The Hawks (8-8) will now prepare for their bout against Conant (Jaffrey, NH). The Orioles go into the Division III bout with a 7-7 record. In their last bout, Conant toppled Kearsarge (North Sutton, NH), 17-5, in a league bout.
The Hillcats now possess a 3-11 record. They play next when they travel to Prospect Mountain for a non-league bout on Monday, May 20. Hillsboro-Deering will confront a Timberwolves squad coming off a 9-0 league win over St. Thomas Aquinas (Dover, NH). The Timberwolves record now stands at 13-0.
